Texas Instruments SN74HC164D is an 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register from the 74HC series. This high-speed CMOS device offers a serial data input (DS) and a clock input (CLK). Data is shifted one position to the right on the low-to-high transition of the clock. The SN74HC164D features two serial data inputs (DS and A/B) that can be used for independent or related serial data entry. The device is packaged in a 14-SOIC (0.154", 3.90mm width) surface-mount package and operates over a wide supply voltage range of 2V to 6V, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
