Texas Instruments' CD74HC85PW is a high-speed CMOS magnitude comparator from the 74HC series. This 4-bit digital comparator evaluates the magnitude relationship between two 4-bit binary or BCD words. It provides three mutually exclusive outputs indicating A<B, A=B, and A>B, all active high. The device features cascading inputs for expansion to compare words of greater length. Operating over a voltage range of 2V to 6V, the CD74HC85PW exhibits a typical propagation delay of 33ns at 6V and 50pF. Quiescent current is a low 8 µA.
