The onsemi CD4040BCN is a 12-bit ripple-carry binary counter from the 4000B series. This monolithic CMOS device features 12 independent JK flip-flops, configured as a ripple counter. It accepts a single clock input and a single reset input. Each flip-flop toggles its output state on the negative-going transition of the clock pulse when the clock enable is at a logical 0. The asynchronous master reset clears all flip-flops to their zero state.
