Texas Instruments SN74HC164AN is an 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register. This high-speed CMOS device offers a direct replacement for older bipolar devices. The SN74HC164AN features two serial data inputs (A and B) which can be used to increase the overall shift length, or for data bussing. A serial output is provided on pin Q7. The device is controlled by a clock input (CLK) and an asynchronous master reset (MR). When MR is high, the outputs are all low and unaffected by the other inputs. When MR is low, data is transferred from the serial inputs to the shift register on the positive transition of the clock. This component is suitable for various applications including consumer electronics, industrial automation, and automotive systems. Packaging is Bulk.
