Texas Instruments DRV8332DKD is a three-phase half-bridge gate driver designed for driving DC motors and general-purpose applications. This component delivers up to 8A continuous output current per channel with a peak current capability of 13A, utilizing Power MOSFET technology. It features integrated bootstrap circuitry for high-side gate drive and provides status flags for fault reporting. The DRV8332DKD offers comprehensive fault protection including current limiting, over-temperature, short circuit, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO). It is configured as three independent half-bridges and interfaces via PWM. The device operates from a 10.8V to 13.2V supply voltage and is suitable for loads up to 52.5V. Packaged in a 36-HSSOP with an exposed pad, this surface-mount component has a typical on-resistance of 80mOhm for both low-side and high-side MOSFETs. The DRV8332DKD is engineered for operation across a wide temperature range of -40°C to 150°C (TJ).

Integrated Circuit FAQs

An integrated circuit (IC) is a semiconductor chip that contains transistors, resistors, capacitors, and other electronic components on a single silicon substrate. ICs are the foundation of modern electronics and power devices such as smartphones, computers, automotive systems, and industrial equipment.

Integrated circuits work by routing electrical signals through microscopic semiconductor components fabricated onto a silicon chip. Depending on the design, ICs can process, amplify, store, or control electronic data.
