The STMicroelectronics BTA12-600BW is a Snubberless™ series Alternistor TRIAC designed for high-power AC switching applications. This single TRIAC offers a 600V off-state voltage and a 12A RMS on-state current. Its Alternistor configuration, coupled with the Snubberless™ characteristic, minimizes the need for external commutation circuitry, simplifying designs and improving reliability. Key parameters include a maximum gate trigger current (Igt) of 50mA and a hold current (Ih) of 50mA. The device features a non-repetitive surge current capability of 120A at 50Hz and 126A at 60Hz. With a gate trigger voltage (Vgt) of 1.3V, it is suitable for direct triggering from microcontrollers.
