Power Integrations TOPSwitch® series TOP202YAI is an offline switcher IC designed for high-efficiency power conversion. This component integrates a high-voltage MOSFET and a PWM controller, enabling simplified designs for flyback, forward, boost, and buck topologies. Operating at a 100kHz switching frequency with a 67% duty cycle, it supports up to 75W output power. The device features built-in current limiting and over-temperature protection for enhanced reliability. Its 700V breakdown voltage makes it suitable for universal input voltage designs. Housed in a TO-220-3 package, the TOP202YAI is engineered for through-hole mounting. This component finds application in AC-DC converters for consumer electronics, industrial power supplies, and adapter markets.

Integrated Circuit FAQs

An integrated circuit (IC) is a semiconductor chip that contains transistors, resistors, capacitors, and other electronic components on a single silicon substrate. ICs are the foundation of modern electronics and power devices such as smartphones, computers, automotive systems, and industrial equipment.

Integrated circuits work by routing electrical signals through microscopic semiconductor components fabricated onto a silicon chip. Depending on the design, ICs can process, amplify, store, or control electronic data.
