The NXP Semiconductors MC68360CZQ25L is a high-performance CMOS serial I/O and communication controller featuring a 68000 bus compatibility. This device operates at a maximum clock frequency of 25 MHz and supports multiple communication standards including ASYNC, BIT, SYNC (BYTE, HDLC, SDLC), and BISYNC. It offers four serial I/O ports capable of 10 Mbps data transfer rates, with flexible data encoding/decoding methods such as NRZ, NRZI, FM1, FM0, MANCHESTER, and Differential Manchester. The controller includes two DMA channels and 46 I/O lines, alongside 2560 words of on-chip data RAM. Designed for surface mounting in a 357-ball PBGA package (JESD-30 Code S-PBGA-B357), it operates within a 2.7V to 3.3V supply voltage range and also supports 5V operation.
