The Asahi Kasei Microdevices/AKM AK8789 is a digital omnipolar Hall effect switch. This surface mount component, packaged in a 4-DFN (1.1x1.4) with an exposed pad, operates from a 1.6V to 5.5V supply voltage and features a push-pull output. It exhibits a typical current consumption of 9µA (supply) and 500µA (output max). The omnipolar design allows activation by either magnetic pole, with sensing ranges of ±3.9mT trip and ±3.7mT release. This device is suitable for operation within an ambient temperature range of -30°C to 85°C and finds application in consumer electronics and automotive systems.
