The Advanced Micro Devices Z85C3010 is a versatile Serial I/O Controller designed for high-performance communication tasks. This CMOS component offers two independent serial channels, each capable of asynchronous, synchronous bit, synchronous byte, HDLC, SDLC, X.25, BISYNC, extended sync, and ADCCP protocols. Its data encoding and decoding methods support NRZ, NRZI-space, BIPH-mark (FM1), BIPH-space (FM0), and BIPH-level (Manchester). With a maximum data transfer rate of 0.3125 Mbps and an external data bus width of 8 bits, it ensures efficient data throughput. The Z85C3010 is compatible with a wide range of bus architectures including 8080, Z80, 6800, 68000, 80188, 80186, 80286, and MULTIBUS. It features two modem control I/Os that can also function as general-purpose I/Os and an 8x19 frame status FIFO. Operating within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, this CQCC44 packaged device is suitable for applications in industrial automation, telecommunications, and embedded systems.
