The Advanced Micro Devices AM85C30 is a dual-channel serial I/O controller designed for high-performance communication applications. It offers versatile communication protocol support, including ASYNC, BIT, SYNC (BYTE, HDLC, SDLC, BISYNC, EXT SYNC, ADCCP), and X.25, with multiple data encoding/decoding methods such as NRZ, NRZI-SPACE, BIPH-MARK(FM1), BIPH-SPACE(FM0), and BIPH-LEVEL(MANCHESTER). The AM85C30 features an 8-bit external data bus and is compatible with various microprocessors, including 8080, Z80, 6800, 68000, 80188, 80186, 80286, and MULTIBUS systems. This controller is suitable for demanding industrial automation, telecommunications infrastructure, and data acquisition systems. It is packaged in a 44-terminal CQCC (Ceramic Quad Flat Pack) with a pitch of 1.27 mm, designed for surface mounting. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, with a supply voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V.
