The Advanced Micro Devices AM85C30 is a dual-channel serial I/O controller designed for high-speed asynchronous and synchronous communication. Operating at a maximum clock frequency of 16.384 MHz, this CMOS component supports data transfer rates up to 0.512 Mbps. It offers versatile communication standards including ASYNC, BIT, SYNC (BYTE, HDLC, SDLC), X.25, BISYNC, EXT SYNC, and ADCCP. It includes a 10 x 19 FRAME STATUS FIFO for enhanced data handling. This through-hole component is housed in a 40-pin PDIP package and operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, with a nominal supply voltage of 5.0V. The AM85C30 is utilized in applications requiring robust serial data transmission, such as networking equipment and industrial control systems.
